Kindergarten Orientation!

Today's Kindergarten Orientation went very well. Miss Gura and Mrs. Gesacion had an opportunity to meet their students and give them a guided tour of the building. Our new students in grades 1-4 had a chance to stop by, too.

I'd like to thank Mrs. Blasko, Mrs. Kramer and Mrs. Orr for being at school today to help with PTO membership. Many of our new parents took the time to join. Thanks! Our first meeting is Thursday, September 10th at 9:00 a.m.

During the Kindergarten Orientation, I dropped the ball! Mrs. Sabrin, our PTO President, was right in front of me and I forgot to introduce her. Sorry Mrs. Sabrin. I'm sure I'll have a few more chances though before June.

Thanks,
Mr. Masucci

Class Lists!

Class lists will be posted on the front doors of the school at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4th. All the way up until that time, lists can and do change due to new students enrolling. Thanks for being patient.

Once again, our school will be recycling aluminum cans. Feel free to drop off your empty cans any time. Thanks in advance.

It looks like the weather is going to be great for the Canfield Fair. If you are heading out later this week, have a great time. Don't eat too much!

Thanks,
Mr. Masucci

Congratulations!

As many of you know, the Ohio Department of Education released district and building ratings based on the 2008-2009 State Report Cards. I am proud to announce that Poland North Elementary School received the ODE's highest rating: "Excellent with Distinction".....for the 2nd year in a row! According to the Vindicator's article today, there are 67 schools in Mahoning County that were rated. Of those 67, only 2 were designated Excellent with Distinction. I'd like to congratulate our students, staff, PTO and parents for their commitment to the students of our school!

Thank you,
Mr. Masucci

Thanks PTO!

I had lunch today with this year's PTO Officers. Before our year even begins, I'd like to thank Tammy Sabrin, Heather Sandy, Diane Kluchar, Melissa Kellgren and Callie Kopp for their dedication to the students and staff of Poland North Elementary School! I am looking forward to yet another successful year. It is nice to know that our students always have and always will come first.

Thanks,
Mr. Masucci

Back to Work!

It's official! I am back to work. I vote to keep the place locked up for a few more weeks, but do not think that will fly with too many parents. Our school is lookin' good. Mr. Sofranec and our custodial staff have done a great job cleaning the building.
Kindergarten's Safety Village will be taking place tomorrow and Thursday. Thank you Mrs. Smith for all of your hard work!

Thanks,
Mr. Masucci

Yeah!

Summer has arrived! I'd like to thank our students, staff, PTO and families here at Poland North Elementary School for another wonderful school year. After 15 years, I still do not know of a place that is as special as our school. Thank you.

Mrs. Klase, Mrs. O'Shaughnessy and their Fun Day committee did an outstanding job. Everyone had a blast. Our volunteers were great and a huge help setting up and cleaning up. Thanks for putting our students first.

Thank you,
Mr. Masucci
