Strega Nona!

Our 3rd graders enjoyed their trip to Westminster College today to see a performance of Strega Nona. This story by Tomie dePaola is a classic. If you have never read it, make it point it a point to do so.

Plans are really coming together for our upcoming Family Disney Night. Make sure those invitations are returned by October 29th! I have a few surprises planned.

Thanks,
Mr. Masucci

Back to School!

Let's get right down to business! Tonight is Game 3 and the Yankees need a win! I will be enjoying either a bowl of buttery popcorn or perhaps a pizza as I watch the game.

As far as school goes, we're back. Coming back after a long weekend is never easy. I hope everyone enjoyed the days off. It will be November before we know it.

I cannot tell you how nice it is has been this year to see so many fathers helping out in the cafeteria. That's not to say I do not appreciate all of the moms who help, but having fathers here is great. Mr. Smith and Mr. Ozenghar have been regulars and today Mr. Thompson helped. Thank you guys!

Miss Gura worked hard over the weekend rolling....and rolling...and rolling coins. I am proud to report that our students brought in $530.00 for this summer's Relay for Life. Great job!

Thanks,
Mr. Masucci

Invitations to our Family Disney Night are heading home with K-2 students today. Please return them ASAP and don't forget to write down your favorite Disney character. All invitations are due by October 29th.

Thanks,

Another Beautiful Day!

Today is another beautiful day. We kicked off our walking program this afternoon to the delight of many. In all, our students and staff walked a little under two miles. As long as the weather is on our side, we will continue to have days like this. Enjoy the pictures!

Our students and families certainly are generous! Our coin collection is going exceptionally well. We'll wrap things up tomorrow with Quarter Day. Thanks to all who are supporting Team North's Relay for Life efforts! You are appreciated.

Thanks,
Mr. Masucci

Let's Go for a Walk!

Since tomorrow is going to be another beautiful day, we'll take a walk around the school's property. For four years now, Poland North Elementary School has had a walking program that supports the district's Wellness Policy. Be sure your children wear comfortable shoes.

Tomorrow is "Dime Day". Our students seem very excited and have collected quite a bit of money for the American Cancer Society. I'll be sure to share the total one day next week.

Plans are coming together nicely for our upcoming K-2 Family Disney Night. Invitations for this evening event will head home Thursday.

Thanks,
Mr. Masucci

Family Disney Night

Information is heading home today regarding our upcoming "Family Disney Night" for all K-2 students and their parents. This "magical" event will take place on Thursday, November 4th from 5:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Additional information will be sent home in a few days. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me.

For those new to our building, we typically hold at least two family nights throughout the course of the school year. We have held everything from Family Math Night to Family Technology Night.

Our first batch of aluminum cans will be picked up tomorrow. Keep 'em coming.
3rd and 4th graders who chose to participate in this year's "Juvenile Court Advisory Board's Stay in School Poster Contest" must have their posters to school by tomorrow morning.

Thanks,
Mr. Masucci
P.S. Don't forget. Tomorrow in "Nickel Day!"

It's Friday!

Today was an absolutely beautiful day! Let's hope this weekend is just as nice. Our Poland Bulldogs take on Howland tonight at PSHS. If you are heading to the game, go early. I'm sure it is going to be crowded. Go DOGS!

Don't forget that Monday will be "Penny Day". Please encourage your children to bring in a few cents. Clean out the cars and check the couch cushions for those sneaky pennies.

Thanks,
Mr. Masucci
