A Nice Day!

Our students are enjoying the new book I started reading during our morning announcements. Ask them what they enjoy most about Fudge, Peter and Tootsie!

The PTO received a very nice certificate from Ohio Senators Bill Harris and Joe Schiavoni today that congratulates its members for being declared a heroes of the Mahoning Valley. Our PTO is one-of-a-kind!

I have more nice news. Our school was recently nominated for the Daily Point of Light Award and passed through the preliminary round of judging. The judges were inspired by our school's community service. To learn more about the award, click here.

Enjoy the weekend. Kindergarten registration begins tomorrow. Don't forget.

Thanks,
Mr. Masucci

Sunshine!

It sure is nice to see and feel the sun! It looks like the next few days are going to warm up. We may be able to see grass soon!

I'd like to thank those who were able to make it to today's PTO meeting. We were able to get a lot accomplished. Once again, I feel very privileged to be a part of such a caring, generous group. Plans were discussed for the upcoming Father-Son Night. If you have any questions about it, please feel free to give Mrs. Orr a call.

Don't forget.....Kindergarten Registration will take place this Saturday and next from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Poland Union Elementary School. If you have a little one who will begin kindergarten in September, please plan on registering. If you have any questions, please call me.

Thanks,
Mr. Masucci

Go Bulldogs!

Our Bulldogs take another yet another opponent tonight in tournament play. The game will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. at Boardman High School. Good luck!

2nd graders had a wonderful trip today to Schwebels Bakery. The bakery is such a success story. I am sure our students gained a better appreciation of this local treasure.

Check out today's Vindicator. There is a great story about our 4th graders and their commitment to recycling. The Vindicator continues to share wonderful stories about our school. We should all be proud.
Thanks,
Mr. Masucci

P.S. Hope to see you at tomorrow morning's PTO meeting. We'll begin at 9:00 a.m.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Morgan, Ralphie, Marie, Marissa and Julia for winning the recent Cinema South contest. Their winning entries earned them quite a few rewards and pizza parties for their homerooms. Great job to all who participated.

Thursday evening's PTO meeting has been rescheduled for 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning. It was originally set for 6:30 p.m. Sorry for any inconvenience.

The deadline for Green Team Placemat Contest is quickly approaching. The entries I have received thus far are amazing. Keep up the great work.

Great News!

The Community Foundation of the Mahoning has awarded our building a $2,000 grant! The grant will be used to construct a shade structure in our courtyard that will help protect students and staff from the sun's ultraviolet rays. As many of you know, our courtyard will become a very busy place in the weeks to come. Our greenhouse will be filled with flowers and vegetables. I look forward to sharing more exciting news soon.

Thursday's PTO Meeting has been rescheduled. We will meet at 9:00 a.m. instead of 6:30 p.m. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Thanks,
Mr. Masucci

The Weekend Has Arrived!

I hope everyone enjoys the weekend. It is hard to believe that when we return it will be March. If you are heading to the game tonight, get there early and cheer on the Bulldogs. For those heading to YSU tomorrow, enjoy the games. Plan on arriving some time after 12:00 if you want to participate in a variety of activities for the kids.

There is a PTO meeting next Thursday at 6:30 p.m. March is a long and very busy month. It's packed full of programs and activities. Please plan on attending.

Another Storm!

Ahhhhh! Another storm is headed our way. In the event our schools close or have a 2 hour delay, be listening to the news and watching this site. I will get information up as soon as possible.

Tomorrow is "Blue and White Day". The basketball game tomorrow night is SOLD OUT! Let's hope our boys take it to the Cardinals. Go Poland!

I should have some new pictures up soon.
