November!

It's November! The month is filled with special events and activities, so be sure to check out the calendar page. The month will be highlighted by next week's visit from our Marine friends stationed in Johnstown, PA. They plan on arriving at 1:00 p.m. next Wednesday afternoon. I hope you can make it. It's something you do not want to miss.

Please consider signing up to donate blood on Monday, November 8th. It would be greatly appreciated.

Don't forget to get out and vote tomorrow!

Thank You!

Our Halloween Parade went exceptionally well. We were very fortunate to have decent weather. Our students and staff looked great...or frightening.......or beautiful......Just depends on how you look at things! Thanks to the PTO volunteers who helped in our classrooms.

Today's dismissal went well, too. Thanks for your patience. It is never easy to disrupt a school's routine. Every child got home safe and sound today. Look for pictures from today on our site soon.

It's hard to believe it will be November when we return to school on Monday. Check out the calendar for the month. There are a lot of special events taking place. Please remember to get out and vote on Tuesday!

Halloween!

Tomorrow is going to be a very exciting day. Halloween and Valentine's Day are two of the more "interesting" days to be in an elementary school. I'm looking forward to a great day. Remember to send your children to school with their costumes. They are not to wear them. PTO volunteers assigned to help out in the classrooms will be sure to get those ties tied and snaps snapped. Only assigned PTO members will be permitted in the classrooms.

Since the weather is going to cooperate, our students and staff will hold a parade outside. They will exit the east side of the building around 1:15 and make several laps around the school's driveway before heading back inside. Once inside, PTO will provide a treat to all.

Those who will be taking their children home after the parade will be asked to wait near the gym's side doors. Children will be dismissed before the buses arrive. Only students who have turned in the appropriate form indicating they will be picked up will be dismissed early. Thanks in advance for your cooperation!

Box Tops!

The deadline to turn in Box Tops is quickly approaching. Please make sure they are turned in on Friday, October 29th. I'd like to thank Mrs. Fec for all of her hard work. With a few more days left, clip away! Thank you for your help. Please continue to collect them for future efforts here at school. Just think how many you could collect over the next few months.

The Voki on the top of the page is not working today. You'll have to look at me in the Santa Claus outfit until the problem is corrected. Ho..Ho..Ho!

Red Ribbon Week Continues!

I'm proud to report that our students and staff were decked in red today. Wearing red symbolized our awareness of staying drug-free and leading healthy lifestyles. Tomorrow is COLOR Day! Mrs. Dalesandro has done a great job decorating our school's lobby with the students' "drug free" pledges. Stop by to check them out.

Be sure you read the information coming home today about our Veterans' Day celebration scheduled for Wednesday, November 10th. Your support will be deeply appreciated.

Red Ribbon Week!

Today begins Red Ribbon Week. As usual, Mrs. Dalendandro has done a wonderful job planning this year's week. Red Ribbon Week is dedicated to celebrating the life of Enrique Camarena, who was a DEA agent who died in the fight against drugs. Over the years, Special Agent Camarena's tragic death has been turned into a week long celebration of making positive choices and leading healthy. drug-free lifestyles. The last week of October became formalized as Red Ribbon Week in 1988 by a proclamation of the U.S. Congress.

Activities are planned for each day this week that will have our students activiely engaged. Be sure to ask your children about this important topic. Remember to wear red tomorrow!

North's News!

It's always nice to be able to report that today was a very quiet day. Our students were hard at work throughout the day. The one real break came this afternoon when our students listened to a representative from the American Red Cross.

As many of you know, our school has been holding blood drives for many years. Information about this year's drive will be heading home soon. Mark your calendars fro Monday, November 8th. Our students learned that 1 donor saves 3 lives. Please consider donating.
