Welcome!

It's the first day of school! There were a lot of smiling faces that entered the building this morning. There were also quite a few that looked less then thrilled to be here, but do not worry. Our teachers will get back into the swing of things rather quickly. (C'mon......that's a little first day of school humor!)

Start getting into the habit of checking your child's backpack today. Many important papers will be heading home this first week of school. Please return them ASAP.

Have a wonderful day.

Thanks,
Mr. Masucci

Orientation Day

All kindergarten and new students were invited to school today to get a feel for their new home away from home. Starting a new school can be tough. I hope that today's experiences will make next Tuesday a bit easier for everyone.

Enjoy the Canfield Fair! Classes begin Tuesday, September 7th.

Thanks,
Mr. Masucci

Safety Village

On behalf of the three elementary schools, I'd like to thank Mrs. Pepperney and her many helpers for all of their hard work putting this year's Safety Village together. Everything went exceptionally well.

Kindergarten Orientation is one week away. This will provide yet another opportunity for our new students to become more familiar with their schools.

Thanks,
Mr. Masucci

The 2010-2011 is quickly approaching. Updates are being made to this site quite oiften, so please keep your eyes and ears on it!

Safety Village takes place tomorrow and Wednesday. It is held for all incoming kindergartners to the Poland Schools. I'm sure I will see some familiar faces.

It's hard to believe our Poland Bulldogs kick off their season this Thursday at home against Hubbard. Let's hope for a great season. Go DOGS!

Class lists will be posted at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 3rd.

Summer is Here!

The 2009-2010 school year has come to an end! I'd like to thank the students, staff, PTO and families for yet another wonderful year. Enjoy the summer months because they will go by quickly. Over the next few months, our site will be "under construction". We'll have an updated one in September. It was hard to even type that word.

Mark your calendars for Friday, June 25th and Saturday, June 26th. Celebrate Poland will be taking place in and around the Poland Village Green. Each day will bring with it a variety of activities like Chalk It Up Poland, a petting zoo, DJ Tony Tonight and Poland Idol. There are too many others to mention. I hope to see you there.
Thanks,
Mr. Masucci

Fun Day!

Thank you PTO! Today's Fun Day was one to remember. Mrs. Diaz and her committee did an amazing job planning, setting up and handling each of the many stations. Our students and staff are extremely fortunate to have so much support. The weather was on our side, too. The warm temperature and nice breeze made for absolutely perfect day.

With that said, .................................1 MORE DAY TO GO! I look forward to another wonderful day tomorrow. Look for 1 more blog tomorrow before our website goes "under construction".

Thanks,
Mr. Masucci

A Soggy Day!

Wow! The rain just kept on coming this morning. It rained exceptionally hard, but plans remain the same for tomorrow's Fun Day. Tomorrow's forecast looks great. I have advised all students to wear old socks and shoes. We'll make the best of it. I have my bathing suit ready. Bring it on!

Tonight is our Spirit Night at Handel's. Stop by with the gold sheet of paper that was recently sent home between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. and our school will receive cash that will go toward our Relay for Life efforts. Please consider stopping out for some delicious ice cream and the chance to help our school raise money for the American Cancer Society.

Thanks,
Mr. Masucci
